Kia Teams with Amazon to Provide One-Stop Home Charging Solutions

Customers concerned about a Kia EV's practicality can put their doubts to rest. Global automotive giant Kia Motors has teamed up with Amazon to provide simple, one-stop home charging solutions for its clients.

The partnerships product is a home-installed, plug-in vehicle charging solution. Designed for the Kia Niro EV1, Niro PHEV, Optima PHEV, and the brand new 2020 Soul EV models, the home charging system will allow vehicle owners to charge their Kia electric cars at home on a Level 2, 240-volt mobile charger.

The EV Revolution

Kia is an active supporter of electric and hybrid vehicle designs. The South Korean business has long intended environmentally sustainable vehicles. The at-home charging setup decreases the hassle of consumers finding a charging station and encourages more individuals to go the hybrid or electrical way.

Kia is not the first automotive brand to introduce a revolutionary item like this one. German automotive legend Audi launched Amazon's e-tron electric SUV at-home charging solution in 2018.

How Does the System Work?

Customers must first sign into Amazon's Kia Car Charging Solutions section. Kia recommends a charger with a minimum of 32 amps. Customers can choose from three choices for the 240V charger–Bosch, ChargePoint, & Juicebox. The chargers (except for Bosch) are compatible with Alexa and WiFi connectivity.

Once the consumer selects a charge, they can then plan a service appointment on Amazon by offering data about their home and charging demands. Amazon guarantees complete end-to-end installation help by offering extra facilities such as load evaluation, installation of a 2 pole 50-ampere circuit breaker and installation of a junction box.

Kia and Amazon have likewise made financing and payment installments convenient. Customers who own an Amazon Store Card, an Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card, or an Amazon Prime Card will have access to incredible discounts and highly flexible funding options.
