2019 Kia Sorento
The 2019 Kia Sorento occupies an interesting spot in the crossover SUV market. It has always been a great contender within the segment and the 2019 iteration is just as good. In fact, we would say it’s a bit better, thanks to the changes in the steering and suspension. There’s a bit more space as well. However, Kia has maintained the 3-row seating configuration. You have 6 trim levels to choose, each offering its own unique features and capabilities. This includes the L, the LX, the EX, the SX, and the SXL.
There have been styling changes as well. However, they are extremely subtle. At first glance, you will hardly find anything that sets the 2019 iteration apart from the 2018 iteration. But a closer look will reveal certain minuscule changes. The design, in general, looks best on the higher trim levels, thanks to the bold LED fog lights and larger alloy wheels. The higher trim levels have 18-inch alloys as opposed to the 17-inch ones on the base trims.
Under the hood, the L and LX trims are powered by a 4-cylinder unit. You also have the option of choosing front wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The higher trim levels are powered by a 290 horsepower 3.3 liter V6, which can also be had in AWD or FWD configuration. The V6 is mated to an 8-speed transmission that does an excellent job of delivering power to the wheels. Both engines are quite smooth, but the 4-cylinder edges past by a minor margin. The new steering is very crisp and boasts increased perception. On the roads, it's easy to forget that you’re in a fairly large SUB. The suspension is stupendous, going so far as to compete with the likes of high-end SUVs such as the Q7.
The 2019 Kia Sorento scored 5 stars from the NHTSA and a “Top Safety Pick” title from the IIHS. In other words, this is a very safe vehicle. You can expect to see features such as automatic emergency braking, 6 airbags, rearview camera, and stability control To get a closer look at the 2019 Kia Sorento in Columbia at JT's Kia - the number one showroom for Kia cars in Columbia.
